About

Thanks for stopping by. Read below to learn more about myself and my background.

Kiran Brahma

Quick Introduction

My path wasn't typical - started as an engineer, got an MBA, then spent years working across industries from infrastructure to clean tech. I've worked at MNCs, helped build startups, and now run my own business. These days, I'm figuring out how to grow a security and staffing company while sharing what I learn along the way.

Education

Civil Engineering from NIT Hamurpur.

MBA from Indian School of Business.

Work Experience

Entrepreneurial Journey

Articlus (2012)

An interior design firm I co-founded with three college friends. We've completed over 50 residential and commercial projects, transforming spaces through innovative design and meticulous execution. Still running, still learning.

Interstellar (2018)

Started a last-mile logistics business using custom-designed two-wheelers and battery packs. Had to shut it down after my father's passing, but the experience taught me a lot about operations and customer service.

Knighthood (2014 - Present)

A security and staffing solutions business my father started in 2014. I've been running it full-time since September 2019. It's where I put everything I've learned to the test daily.

The Longer Story

My journey started conventionally enough. I completed my engineering at NIT Hamirpur and then went on to get my MBA from the Indian School of Business. But here's the thing - my real education came from what happened next.

I've worked across different industries (infrastructure, telecom, transportation, clean-tech) and different company sizes (MNCs, startups, family businesses). Each transition taught me something new about how businesses actually work, not just how they're supposed to work.

n 2019, after my father's unexpected passing, I took over his security and staffing company full-time. Running Knighthood has been one of those experiences that tests everything you think you know about business. It's messy, challenging, and completely different from what you read in business books.

Why This Website Exists

Most business content focuses on either high-growth startups or large corporations. But what about the rest of us? Small business owners dealing with cash flow, operations, hiring, and growth without venture capital or massive teams?.

IThat's the gap I'm trying to fill here. I share the practical tools, processes, and strategies I've developed while running my business. Think of it as notes from someone figuring it out in real time, not polished advice from someone who's already made it.

What You'll Find Here

Running your own business is a continuous learning experience. I want to share the wins, failures, and everything in between - especially the stuff that actually works for smaller businesses.

Over the past few years, I've developed tools, processes, and systems that have helped me manage operations more effectively. Some work great, others need tweaking, and a few were complete disasters. I'll share them all.

Most importantly, this is a work in progress. I'm still figuring things out, and I expect this blog will evolve as I learn more.

This blog covers whatever topics catch my interest and seem relevant to running a business. Expect practical insights, honest assessments, and the occasional experiment that goes sideways.
